Tile Mural Process
Step 1: Imagery Selection
During the selection process, the client selects both the image to be used for the tile mural as well as the tile type to be used.
Step 2: Production
- Your image(s) are printed out onto a special paper, using a special printer and dyes.
- The specially coated tiles are then positioned onto the printed paper and placed in a specialized heat press applying pressure at 400 degrees Farenheit. During this process, the dyes turn from a solid to a gaseous state and penetrate the surface of the tiles. As the tile cools, the dyes return to their solid state and are now permanently infused into the tile.
- Your Tile Mural is now ready to be shipped and installed.
Step 3: Shipping and Installation
Aamodt Companies, Image Tile Murals, makes the installation process easy for its customers by providing a road map that follows a simple numbering system. On the back of each tile will be a number that represents the location of the tile within the mural. It is then easy for the installer to refer to the map, find the tiles location and position them accordingly.
Accidents are bound to happen and because of this, Aamodt Companies will supply a limited number of replacement tiles at no additional cost. Shipping of these tiles are not included.
Grout Recommendations - Un-sanded grout or silicone grout should be used on the all tiles to avoid scratching the surface of the tiles during the fixing stage. Sanded grout, if needed, can be used on the tumbled stone.
Sealer recommendations - It is not necessary to seal the tiles unless the tumbled stone is going to be used in any water application.
Step 4: Tile Mural Maintenance
We recommend using a non-abrasive household cleaner and a soft cloth when cleaning your tiles.
