Born and raised in Duluth, I now live 10 miles north of Duluth on Caribou Lake. My photography career started in the early 70's when I operated multiple types of cameras from the back seat of a RF-4C reconnaissance jet with the Minnesota Air National Guard. After retirement from the Air Guard in 1992 I stepped into nature photography as an avocation while employed full time at Minnesota Power as a Power System Operator. In May of 2006 I retired from Minnesota Power and now do outdoor photography for fun and business as owner of Northern Images Photography.

At age 55, I have been blessed with a wonderful wife, Debby, to whom I have been married for 34 years. With three children and four grandchildren, life as a dad and grandpa gives me great joy.
